Using your STAP/EA funds

Stanford provides educational reimbursement funds to eligible university and hospital employees. Funds can be applied towards our Healthy Living classes. But act quick – unused funds will expire on August 31.

For University Staff
Staff Training Assistance Program (STAP) is a university provided program that offers education reimbursement for eligible Stanford University employees. Regular or fixed-term employees working 50 percent time or greater, including non-academic staff, academic staff and bargaining unit staff are eligible for STAP funds. The university provides $800 yearly for regular staff and $700 yearly for employees who are covered by the SEIU Collective Bargaining Agreement. STAP funds are available for use between September 1 and August 31. Any unused STAP funds will expire on August 31. Reimbursement is based on start date of the course and not registration date. For Hospital Staff
Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children’s Health provide Educational Assistance (EA), also known as Tuition Reimbursement Funds for education related to development efforts. Regular and Fixed-Term SHC and SCH employees who work 40 hours or more per pay period and have completed the trial period are eligible. All training activities must be approved by supervisors prior to registration. The maximum reimbursement is $2,000 per fiscal year (September 1 thru August 31) for eligible full-time employees, with pro-rated amounts based on scheduled hours for eligible part-time employees.
