Partner Shiatsu for Hands and Feet
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of energy/bodywork using the thumbs, fingers, palms, and elbows to apply pressure to the acupuncture meridians of the body. The pressure relieves stress by dissipating muscle tension and allowing the flow of energy through the body. The repetitive stresses of work are calmed and eliminated, increasing productivity and health.
In this academic and experiential online class, you will work in pairs while seated, practicing the principles of good alignment as you work. You will learn bodywork techniques to apply to overworked hands and feet for relief and relaxation. The receiver and the practitioner will both benefit from the focusing of energy and intention. Please attend with a free partner in a quiet location with room to move. Have a yoga mat or comfortable space to lie down available.
Instructor: Lisa Burnett, MA, MFA, has been teaching dance since 1977, practicing Shiatsu since 1988, and teaching Pilates since 1995.
