HIP Projects > SHALA Interpretation Workshop
The Stanford Health and Lifestyle Assessment (SHALA) is an online survey that will help you recognize the link between your current lifestyle behaviors and your risk for certain chronic diseases. It will also help you assess your readiness for improving those lifestyle behaviors. The output reports generated when you complete the assessment outline your personal risk for diseases such as type II diabetes and cardiovascular disease. In addition, they provide you with health behavior targets you can set for yourself to reduce your risk and improve your health. Even more importantly, they contain strategies that you can employ to reach those goals.
The SHALA Interpretation Workshop provides valuable information to help you interpret your survey results and develop a personalized wellness plan. In addition, attendance at an interpretation workshop is required for benefits-eligible university employees to receive additional benefits under Step 3 of the Employee Incentive Program.

For those who have not attended a SHALA Interpretation Workshop.
Benefits-eligible university employees: Attendance at a workshop is not required to receive $150 incentive. You will receive the $150 simply for taking SHALA. If you want to receive the remaining benefits of the Employee Incentive Program, you will need to register for and attend an Interpretation Workshop. Please log into the BeWell site at http://stanford.wellsphere.com/shalaHome.s to take the SHALA and register for an interpretation workshop.
